1. Print sources have been reserved for this assignment. Please see the booktruck. For Reference sources, use the index or Table of Contents to locate specific information.
2. Web Path Express (on Destiny) - Provides several scientific websites but you will need to narrow your search by using these keywords: bridges and construction or bridges and engineering. You must link the two terms by using "and". Make sure to visit the PBS site.

World Book Advanced / Britannica / Grolier (including the New Book of Popular Science.) Some of the search results may also offer you additional websites.
Gale Student Resource Center Junior (not Student Resource Center) - Use either the basic search screen or combine terms for an advanced search. Do not use PowerSearch. Tip: Note the "Related Subjects" on the left side menu. These will lead you to additional sources.
Marshall Cavendish Science Reference Center - (also available in print reference)
Image Quest - Use this photo database for images. Images may also be downloaded from database articles in encyclopedias, etc.

Build a Bridge - NOVA site that provides information on four bridge types and also gives you an opportunity to build a bridge virtually.
Bridges - Newton's Apple site that includes vocabulary of bridge building. Watch the video that demonstrates the scientific forces involved in bridge building. You'll be surprised to see the materials used to build one of the bridges.
Discover Engineering - Exactly what do engineers do and why are they important? Fun site.
